About the team

Walking rugby is a simplified version of the game with no tackles, no running, no scrummages, no diving – just passing and walking over the line with the ball to score.
Wath Warriors were set up by Sally Corns in 2020 to provide a safe and effective way of exercising for over 55 year olds.
Walking rugby is for men and women of any ability and is a great way to regain and/or maintain fitness. Players include former rugby players, those recovering from injury or illness and those completely new to the game.
Walking rugby is a real leveller and you do not need great fitness or strength to start. Most people find walking rugby will contribute to their fitness. You do need some mobility, a sense of humour and a desire to be part of a team.
We play Saturdays at 11am and Wednesdays (during the summer) at 6pm on the pitch on Recreation Road.
