On Saturday Wath upon Dearne RUFC welcomed Roundhegians to Moor Road, the visitors had won the return fixture back in September and so Wath were eager to turn this around.
The Moor Road men started the game brightly, fantastic work at the breakdown from Joey Minshull gave Wath a penalty which Jordan Flemming duly converted 3-0.
Wath pushed on and were soon over for their first try of the game, strong running upfront gave the backs space outwide and full back Adam West found half a gap to sprint over and score, Flemming converted 10-0.
In the closing stages of the first half Roundhegians began to dominate, first they earned a penalty before crossing for a well taken try following a period of sustained pressure. Half time score Wath 10 Roundhegians 8.
Into the second half Wath started brightly, the ball was moved quickly down the line and wing Jordan Flemming stretched out to score in the corner, he also added the conversion 17-8.
Wath pushed on, and around the 60 minute mark earned their third try, stand off Martyn Bray created space and found Flemming who crossed for his second try 22-8.
The South Yorkshiremen had the bonus point secured and the match won on 75 minutes, a strong scrum gave Wath a great platform, scrum half Jim West went down the blindside and found Luke Pendelbury who reached out to score.
Final score Wath 27 Roundhegians 8. The man of the match award went to back row Joey Minshull for a superb performance.
