It was with trepidation that Wath travelled to Moortown to play the unbeaten league leaders with a depleted squad. Hoping their phisio Alice Smith would have a less busy day than of late. As the game progressed it was obvious that Moortown had assembled a very talented squad
Within minutes Waths supporters where made aware of Moortowns skills, a text book try orchestrated by their No 10 Lota. who acted like a puppet master all game started what was to be an impressive score line. Waths wayward kicking did not help their cause and too many kicks fell into the hands of the opposition only for them to mount another attack on Waths line. Adam West making his back row debut secured a penalty for Wath with a very determined heave for the line, but at half time the score was 31- 3
After the break Wath gained more ground but Moortowns defence was solid and their breaks usually lead by Tuiamai resulted in tries. During this period George Martin making his debut from Waths development squad certainly deserved a man of the match award. Eventually as a last ditch sign of defiance Waths senior coach Simon Lines took the field, amazing he scored within minutes.
On paper this game seemed like a mountain to climb, it was. A home game next week against Old Crossleyans and the return of some walking wounded should prove less daunting
