Within seconds of the kick off, we had our first case of handbags and these miner altercations would continue through out the match.
(2 Ossett, 1 Wath) players taking 10 min rests at the behest of the referee.
There was some strong defensive work by Ossett in the first half, has Wath spent long periods attacking their line to no avail. Even when Wath did break the Ossett line Luke Pendlebury appeared to have butter on his fingers and drop the ball.
On a period of Ossett pressure, wing James Marshall kicked a hopeful ball up field to clear Waths lines. This was given chase by a hungover James Dyson who managed to put pressure on the Ossett young defender who spilt the ball. This allowed James Dyson too pick up the ball and run clear to score for Wath. Coversion being easily dispatched by Craig Wood. Ossett came back scoring an unconverted try just before the break. Half Time 7 - 5 Wath.
Following mass Wath changes and some by Ossett, Ossett came out the trapdoor quickest putting Wath under pressure. This was telling for Ossett and allowed them to take the lead again failing to convert. Has the game went on Wath and Ossett had chances to score but neither side could take these. Ossett had a penalty which was converted to increase their lead. Wath again dug in and at times appeared to be camped on the Ossett line, with little success until some outstanding individual play by Luke Pendlebury broke the line to score and redeem is earlier fumble. This again converted by Craig Wood.
Final score: 14 - 13 Wath. Also a thank you to those who turned up to support both sides..
