Wath played Hemsworth 2nd XV this week and started the stronger; forcing the Hemsworth pack backward at most scrums. Wath again couldn’t convert pressure into points, kicking ball away constantly when in good positions.
Following a kick away, Hemsworth turned Waths defensive line with a kick over which was caught on the full by Hemsworth young No.8 to score under the posts. Kick converted.
Wath hit back immediately with the pack again forcing the scrum and with some quick play, second row Huw Jones strolled over to score. Conversion kicked by Vince Tilson.
Wath continued to pressure Hemworths line with Wath greater pack strength. Wath had a scrum 5 metres out, which held well only for No.8 Ian Jessop to have the ball ripped out just has he crashed over to score. Luckily for him Wath pack from the Hemworth put-in at the next immediate scrum pushed Hemworth pack backward giving him a chance to redeem himself. With the ball at his feet No.8 Ian Jessop picked up but this time managed to crash over to score. Conversion kicked by Vince Tilson

Hemsworth made changed to their pack with turned the balance their way but Wath continued to compete and gave little ground. Hemsworth now spending the majority of time in the Wath half, were afforded a penalty following a Wath infringement at a breakdown.
Luckily for Wath the kick was missed leaving their narrow lead intact. The game became very scrappy with an increase in ‘handbags’ at ten paces. Neither team looked like scoring and finally the referee had had enough and blew the final whistle.
