Full complement of players pays dividends

Wath were looking to end their dismal run of 3 straight losses with against Thorne.
The game started well with some good attacking play from Wath who showed some real pace in the backs. After 5 minutes Ainsley William powered through the defensive line following some slick backs play to score, Sean Power converted. From the restart the pattern continued. Good loose play from the forwards creating opportunities to release the backline, on 12 minutes Jordan Fleming on the wing went over and Sean converted. 14-0. Thorne came back and through some powerful running from forwards scored under the Wath posts. Was this to be a repeat of several previous games where they have taken the lead and then lost concentration. The answer came on 20 minutes when Ainsley Williams again made an impressive run to score, Sean converting. Thorne then suffered the loss of a front row with a shoulder injury and brought on their only sub, however the impact of this change was that the Thorne team started to attack aggressively in midfield, supported by some very good forwards always on hand to take a pass or offload. Wath had to pull out the stops to keep them out several times. Wath made some changes after 30 minutes in the pack. From a 5m scrum on the Wath line we witnessed a very rare site for the 2XV, they were driven over the line for a pushover try. 21-14. Just before halftime the Thorne sub pulled his calf, and was unable to carry on. Wath skipper Jim West asked if anyone would play for the opposition, his brother Steve volunteered and pulled on the blue and white hoops, his offer to play 10 was ignored and he went to tighthead.
The second half started with Andy Lintin running direct and straight, leading to him scoring after 8 minutes. Conversion missed. 5 minutes later Jim West went over near posts after a snipe from a ruck. Converted. Thorne were now missing tackles in midfield as they had all to cover much ground, handicapped by not having any subs. The home team were able to freshen their ranks and rest some people. Jordan Fleming scored from a nice interplay for him to join Ainsley with 2 scores. Wath now started to play some great rugby, the backs were being orchestrated by Sam Jones at 10 and being organised in defence by veteran Dave Bray at fullback. The wingers regularly getting the ball to make good yards on both wings, the centres make big holes in defences. The next score however came from Max Reeder again playing in the backrow and covering acres of the field.
The game was now safe and home team now started to play without inhibition, Alex Anders was on his way in for a score when his pass from Andy Lintin was somewhat dubiously called forward. However the pressure was maintained and with just a few minutes left, evergreen Dave Bray scored under posts. Final score 54-14. For the first time for several games the benefit of having a full complement of players showed what can be achieved.
The team performance was so complete it was not possible to pick out any individual, so there was no man of match named.
